Composite bonding uses tooth-colored resin to adjust the appearance of teeth, while also repairing minor damage. Since composite bonding is a relatively simple procedure, it can be completed with just one visit to our practice. The process starts by thoroughly cleaning any tooth that is going to receiving bonding. Next, we will choose a shade of resin that matches the patient’s teeth in order to ensure that the end result has a natural appearance.
Before applying the bonding, any decay or deterioration that is present in will be fully removed. The bonding material will then be carefully applied in multiple layers until it reaches the desired thickness. Once this level of thickness has been attained, we will allow the substance to harden so that it achieves the same consistency as natural teeth. Finally, the treated teeth will be buffed and polished, providing them with a finished look. The bonding should last up to ten years with proper care, and we will provide the patient with all the information they need to maintain the look.
